Rental on Leak Detection

 

Cost to rent leak detection and operator.

$125.00 minimum charge

$40.00 per hour after the first hour

$25.00 trip charge with in 35 miles of the City of Irondale and a $50.00 charge 35 to 55 miles, anything over 55 miles will be charged at the current state mileage.

 

When the operator arrives on site he is going to need the following information and a signature on a release form.

We will need the pipe size, type of material and general location.

Resolution Number 2010R7

 

WHEREAS, the City of Irondale, Alabama owns and operates its own municipal water system; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Irondale also serves as Superintendent of the City of Irondale municipal water system; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City of Irondale has purchased certain personal property which will detect water pipe leaks; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Superintendent of the Irondale municipal water system has determined that said water pipe leak detection equipment which was purchased by the City of Irondale will not be used full time; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Superintendent of the Irondale municipal water system has been in contact with other municipal water systems concerning the possibility of renting or leasing this water pipe leak equipment; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Irondale has determined that it is both wise and expedient to maximize the use of this water pipe leak detection equipment.

 

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved as follows:

 

1.   The water system superintendent is hereby authorized to lease and/or rent this

          water leak detection equipment to other municipal water systems on a daily or

          weekly basis.

 

2.   The water system superintendent is hereby authorized to set a rate of rental and/or lease which will provide a reasonable rate of return to the City of Irondale water system.

 

3.   The water system superintendent shall require a hold harmless agreement from every municipal water system which wishes to use this water pipe leak equipment before the water leak detection equipment can be used.

 

4.   The water system superintendent understands and acknowledges that the primary purpose of this water pipe leak detection equipment is to minimize the overall loss of water within the Irondale water system, and that at no time shall this equipment be used in another municipality when there is a need to use this equipment within the City of Irondale.
