I would like to thank everyone in District 4 that voted for me on September 26, 2008, and assure everyone in District 4 that I will work hard to make the City of Irondale a better place for all of us to live.  There are a lot of challenges ahead and the new council has already begun work to serve you in the best possible way.

It is important that I know what you as the citizens of Irondale want for the city.  I believe that the most effective way to do this is through neighborhood associations.  I am aware of only two neighborhood associations currently in District 4 and that needs to change.  I have already talked to citizens in two other areas of District 4 about creating neighborhood associations in their areas and I will be contacting other citizens in other areas in the near future.  Neighborhood associations can come together on a monthly basis to express their concerns about their neighborhood and city to the officers of their association and they in turn can transmit those concerns to me and the council.  I don’t know what you want until you tell me and I want you to tell me.  I plan to attend your neighborhood association at least once a quarter so that you can express your concerns to me and I in turn can pass those along to the Mayor and Council.  If you are interested in helping to start a neighborhood association in your area, please contact me, I will help.

I want to keep you, the citizens of District 4 informed about what is happening in Irondale.  The quickest and most efficient way to do that is through e-mail.  I am currently compiling an e-mail list of residents of District 4 for that purpose.  Please e-mail me with your name and e-mail address so that I can add you to the list.  It has been brought to my attention early in this term that people are not being informed about called and special council meetings and other important issues that concern them within the city.  Through e-mail, I can keep you up to date on what is going on in Irondale and keep you informed.  I will forward the monthly council agendas to you as I receive them.  I will inform you of called and special council meetings and other important issues that come up in Irondale so that you will not be left out.  I believe that it is very important to keep our citizens informed.  Please ask your friends and neighbors to also send me their e-mail address.  Help me spread the word so that I can effectively communicate with more and more of Irondale citizens.
